Chitosan/Hydroxyapatite coating of AZ91 Magnesium Alloy by using Electrophoretic Deposition

چکیده

Due to their good properties, including biodegradability and similar characteristics natural bone, magnesium alloys have potential applications in implant manufacturing for biomedicine orthopedics.In this study, chitosan or/and hydroxyapatite layers were performed on the surface of AZ91 alloy using electrophoretic deposition process. The microstructure coating, mechanical hydrogen evolution, pH wettability characterized with different techniques scanning electron microscopy, vickers microhardness, immersion test contact angle test. results showed that, coating obtained can improve corrosion resistance, making a promising material be used as biodegradable biomedical applications.
